Deck, Fence & Shed Painting

Love your wooden structures again

Harsh weather elements — from hot summer heat to cold snowy winters — take their toll on your decks, fences, and sheds. Heat and moisture cause damage to wood surfaces, leaving your property looking old and unmaintained and, more worryingly, resulting in structural damage. Unprotected wood in your exterior structures will rot if not protected by painting or staining.

Paint or stain - we help you choose

Eastern Hills Painting can help you protect and maintain your property with painting or staining that is tailored to your taste and style. Painting or staining will seal your wood surfaces, creating a barrier against mold, moisture, dirt, and sun damage. Professionally stained or painted wood will enhance the aesthetic appeal of your property and create a pleasant mood for your family and friends to enjoy for years to come. Our experienced team will help you choose the best option to meet your needs.

Preparation & repair - keys to success

Whether you are looking to protect your investment, or prepare your home for the real estate market, painting or staining your exterior wood surfaces will make a huge difference in your home’s curb appeal and value. Our skilled Eastern Hills Painting team will prepare all surfaces by cleaning or pressure washing, depending on the type of surface, and inspecting for damage. This is an all-important step in the process as it will ensure proper adhesion of the paint or stain, protecting the wood from damage.

During the free estimate and consultation, we will discuss whether staining or painting is best for your needs. While both staining and painting will protect natural wood surfaces, there are important differences to consider:

Wood Staining:
Wood stain fills the wood pores, creating a protective film that allows the natural grain pattern and any cracks in the wood show through. This creates a beautiful natural look.

Beautifully stained natural wood surfaces are a unique way to create aesthetic appeal, reflect your style, and protect your investment. Professionally stained wood is a perfect way to add modern style to your home. Wood staining and finishing creates warmth and enhances the appearance of wood grains. This can make old wood look beautiful and sophisticated.

Our experienced team at Eastern Hills Painting delivers beautiful durable finishes that accent your natural wood surfaces. We will work with you to select the perfect stain based on the type of wood, age and condition of the structure, and the overall theme of your property. We will ensure that all surfaces are properly prepared by pressure washing, after which we will apply your choice of solid or semi-transparent stains. We will use only the highest quality products to ensure long lasting results. However, depending on the type of stain chosen, the level of UV and moisture protection from staining will vary. Our experienced team of painting professionals will go over your options during the initial consultation.

Spruce up your wood with professional staining by choosing Eastern Hills Painting!

Painting:
Painting will seal the wood, create a beautiful glossy surface, and hide any imperfections or cracks. As opposed to staining, painting offers an endless variety, from vibrant eye-popping colors, to more subdued rustic looks. Our experienced team will help you select a shade or color theme that best complements your landscaping or the architectural style of your property.

Paint also lasts longer and is, on average, more durable than staining. Paint provides the best defense for your wood against UV and moisture damage and is much easier to maintain.

Painting your exterior wood surfaces helps protect your deck, patio, fence, or shed from structural degradation as well as adding aesthetic appeal to your outdoor environment.

If not properly painted or stained, wood will accumulate moisture and rot, compromising structural integrity. Paint or stains will seal the wood, protecting it from moisture, UV rays, and other harsh weather elements.

A fresh coat of paint will also rejuvenate your outdoor space, increase your home’s curb appeal, and help you express your unique style.
This depends on the type of wood, climate conditions, and the aesthetic look you prefer. Staining accentuates the natural beauty of the wood and is easy to maintain. Paint lasts longer and will provide a more consistent look.

Once you paint your exterior wood, you will always paint it as it is quite difficult to stain previously painted wood surface. However, you can easily change from stain to paint.

Regardless of what is right for your project, Eastern Hills Painting is happy to help you bring your vision to life.

We can stain or paint any type of wood. Contact us with details of your project, and we’ll be happy to help!

Wood stain is a type of finish that leaves the natural grain visible while protecting the wood from damage. It is not as long lasting as paint, but it is unique in its aesthetic appeal and is very easy to maintain.

Eastern Hills Painting can apply whatever type of exterior wood staining you would like for your project.

We are happy to work with you to determine the type of wood stain that is appropriate depending on the type and age of wood, the use of the structure, and environmental conditions.

Preparation of surfaces is the most important part of the project, and we do not take any shortcuts. We will prepare all wood surfaces by cleaning, which includes power washing, sanding, and inspecting for any damage. We use professional products and equipment that will maximize stain absorbency, paint adhesion, and durability of the finish.

The wood needs to be dry for painting or staining. So, there needs to be a period of dry weather before we can perform the service.

We cannot paint or stain in temperatures that are too low or too hot as this will negatively impact the quality and durability of the work. In addition, we do not recommend painting or staining exterior wood surfaces when there’s too much pollen in the air.

We will work with you to schedule an appropriate time that will allow us to deliver beautiful and long lasting results.
